Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the Packers, was noticeably agitated on the sidelines on Sunday. Stop us if you’ve heard this one before.
In a tale that seems to come up every few weeks, Aaron Rodgers is once more under fire after video of the quarterback screaming at head coach Matt LaFleur in the closing seconds of Green Bay’s victory over Dallas in Week 10 surfaced.
The reason for this heated argument, according to a NESN piece published on Monday, was LaFleur’s conservative late-game play-calling that resulted in Green Bay punting on their final possession of regulation.

LaFleur decided to go with rushing plays on first and second down with just under two minutes left in the game and the score tied at 28, giving the Packers a third-and-1 situation on their own 42-yard line.
On that third down, after throwing an incomplete pass, Rodgers went right to LaFleur and yelled at his head coach.
After the Packers triumphed, Rodgers spoke candidly about his frustration with LaFleur’s play calls at the end of the game:
”Just every single play call, probably. Yeah, I felt like we were like 30 yards from ending the game in regulation. And also felt like it was two-minute (offense) so I was going to be calling those (plays). And I was in a pretty good rhythm, obviously I didn’t have a ton of attempts tonight, but I felt like I was in a pretty good rhythm. I felt like I threw the ball just about exactly where I wanted to tonight. So I wanted a chance to go win the game.”
As he has done numerous times this season, LaFleur accepted responsibility for the late-game mistakes and gave his quarterback credit for making up for his “indecision.”
So, hindsight is 20/20, but that was totally on me, said LaFleur. “A lot of times we get in those circumstances, we allow Aaron a tonne of freedom to run the show, and he does a wonderful job of it.
As the Packers get ready for their Week 11 game against the Tennessee Titans, Rodgers and LaFleur will need to move past this incident soon.
